DAZN: a subscription always at half price, until when and how to benefit from it ?

DAZN, the streaming platform that has won Ligue 1 rights this season, still offers a reduced offer to be able to follow Ligue 1.

DAZN is trying to correct the situation. After criticism of the prices charged by the platform to benefit from Ligue 1 football, for which it obtained the rights in extremis this summer, it has decided to make a commercial gesture. For several weeks, the full subscription to Ligue 1 has gone from 39.99 euros to 19.99 euros per month. Enough to save new subscribers 120 euros over the year. Better yet: those who have already been subscribers since August can also benefit from this rate. Probably due to the success of the operation, Dazn has decided to extend the offer until the end of the year. The extension until the end of the year of this reduction of 10 euros on the monthly subscription with a one-year commitment marks an offensive strategy to win over subscribers, the number of which remains confidential.

With the discount on the DAZN subscription, Ligue 1 is more or less returning to the prices charged in recent seasons, i.e. around 35 euros for the 9 championship matches, if we add the 15 euros subscription to BeIN Sports, which inherited the Saturday match. The price is the same in any case as the combination of Canal+ and Amazon Prime subscriptions, the two broadcasters of the French championship matches between 2021 and May 2024.

The LFP was expecting a billion, Ligue 1 finally got away with 500 million euros with the DAZN/beIN Sports duo for the TV rights of Ligue 1. A proposal of 100 million euros in total for a match and for sponsorship rights from beIN Sports “reassured” the presidents of the clubs who accepted the last-minute proposal this summer. A snub all the same for Ligue 1 and a net loss for many clubs in our French championship.

What price for the subscription ?

You have to pay (once again) extra money to subscribe to Ligue 1 this season. In terms of pricing, DAZN has mentioned offers a subscription of 39.99 euros per month for the “Unlimited Pack”, without commitment. A price that can be reduced to around thirty euros in the event of a 12-month commitment. You must also add the 15-euro subscription to follow the Ligue 1 poster on BeIn Sports….

How to subscribe ?

The subscription is directly available on the DAZN website. DAZN is also included at no additional cost in the Canal+ Sport and Canal+ Friends & Family packages. In detail, this includes CANAL+ SPORT, which costs €25.99 per month for the first year, then €39.99 per month thereafter, and CANAL+ FRIENDS AND FAMILY, which costs €25.99 per month for the first year, then €39.99 per month thereafter, and CANAL+ FRIENDS AND FAMILY, which costs €25.99 per month for the first year, then €39.99 per month thereafter. €49.99 per month for 12 months, then €79.99 thereafter.

What is DAZN ?

Like Netflix or Amazon Prime Video, DAZN is a subscription streaming platform. À Unlike the other services mentioned, it specializes in live sports broadcasting, while also integrating a range of sports documentaries. It arrived in France in December 2020, but the platform remained discreet until August 2023, when DAZN announced a distribution partnership with Canal for Ligue 1.

The streaming platform broadcast the two Ligue 1 matches for which Canal had the rights each day. It provides access to a wide range of sports live and on demand. It has rights in football, boxing, MMA and American football. Since the start of the 2024-2025 season, it has had the rights to Ligue 1 and has broadcast 8 of the 9 matches in the championship.
