Day of mourning on this Tuesday, January 21. Bertrand Blier passed away. He was 85 years old. The announcement of his death was revealed by his entourage to our colleagues at AFP. It is therefore a big name in French cinema who has bowed out. In 1974, the director had caused a scandal with his now cult filmLes Valseuses. On the bill: Patrick Dewaere, Miou Miou and Gérard Depardieu, whom he would direct eight times in total.
Other successes would mark his career, such as Tenue de soirée, with Michel Blanc, but also La femme de mon pote and Trop belle pour toi with Thierry Lhermitte and Josiane Balasko. If Bertrand Blier's cinema career was rich, his romantic life was marked by his love story with a famous French actress.

Death of Bertrand Blier: when Anouk Grinberg denounced Gérard Depardieu's behavior…
Anouk Grinberg is one of the actresses who decided to denounce sexual assaults in the 7th art. On several occasions, she publicly returned to the conditions of filming of Jean Becker's filmLes Volets verts (2022) with Gérard Depardieu. “What people saw in Complément d'Enquête (on Depardieu), is pretty much soft compared to what I saw on Les Volets verts, and I'm not the only one, we all saw it, we all heard it […] From morning to night, we were entitled to his filth“, the 61-year-old actress had declared AFP last March.
“Everyone who has worked with Depardieu knows that he attacks women“, had also estimated Anouk Grinberg in the columns of the magazine Elle, denouncing the “deafening silence” of the film world.
