It was a great figure of TF1 who passed away on January 28th. Catherine Laborde was an emblematic face of the weather for nearly three decades. Aged 73, she had been battling Lewy body dementia for several years. This Saturday, February 1, Evelyne Dhéliat was the guest of the show Quelle ÉEpoque. The opportunity for her to pay a moving tribute to her long-time friend. She first remembered the day Catherine Laborde said goodbye to TF1 viewers in 2017. 

The weather girl's farewell was never forgotten. “I was in the management, of course I came, the whole management was there, there were a lot of us”, she confided before being overcome with emotion. “We were, and I still am, very moved, because there it was, a page that was turning. When the announcement of Catherine Laborde's death was made, public figures and Internet users immediately paid tribute to her. Evelyne Dhéliat particularly remembers her friend's wedding to Thomas Stern in 2013. “It’was an extraordinary day,” she recalled with nostalgia. 

Catherine Laborde: last words never forgotten

When she said goodbye to TF1 viewers, Catherine Laborde did not give a specific reason. She simply confided that she would never forget all those years spent on the air. “You will forget me, but I will not”, she had notably indicated. As Evelyne Dhéliat affirms, her friend has never been forgotten. “His last words were wrong,” she said, tears in her eyes. Even far from the media coverage, Catherine Laborde remained an emblematic figure of TF1 and especially, of the weather.
