Former Democratic President of the United States, Jimmy Carter, died on December 29 at the age of 100. A national day of mourning was declared on January 9 for the man who led the USA from 1977 to 1981 but a whole series of ceremonies began this Saturday.
The American nation pays tribute to its former president for several days. This Saturday, January 4, the ceremonies begin in his hometown of Plains, Georgia.
