A new death in the world of stars of gastronomy. A few weeks after Maïté, Jean-Luc Petitrenaud has died. The journalist was 74 years old. Very thin, he émentioned his health concerns in one of his last interviews with Jordan de Luxe. The latter dates from October 3, 2019.

In December 2017, in a show on CNews, Jean-Luc Petitrenaud éhad already returned to his media retirement in June 2017. Weakened by “a burst of fatigue“, the food columnist had given way to Carine Teyssandier for the show Escapades Gourmandes. France 5 has finally suspended this program.

Jean-Luc Petitrenaud émentioned his health concernsé

In an interview with Jordan De Luxe, he spoke about his health concerns. “I stopped, I wanted to write my book, and then afterwards we took the opportunity to move on to something else and I never came back. I was very tired, that's why I wanted to concentrate on my book, because one trip a week by plane and company… It was a form of weariness, it's for very personal reasons.“ he confided in 2019.

However, the choice to leave his show was not his choice. “I think I made part of those who reached the age limit as decided in the upper management of French television, as if behind every young person there were new ideas, which may be fair, but sometimes not very fair because experience is something that is not so bad, especially in a field like the table.“

Deceased despite his optimism

In this show broadcast on Non Stop People, Jean-Luc Petitrenaud said he was ready to return to television. “I had gotten down on one knee but today I am reborn from my ashes and here I am extremely available, ready and happy to beat again, to be again facing a camera and a new to sew stories.” This Friday, January 10, 2025, 6 years later,  Jean-Luc Petitrenaud died at the age of 74.

His children announced the news to AFP. The cause of death is not yet known. Jean-Luc Petitrenaud died “surrounded of his loved ones.” declared Louise and Antonin Petitrenaud, who “thank the people who loved him so much during these years.” A food journalist, he hosted several écult shows on television and radio.
