Marine Le Pen has finally broken her silence. One day after the announcement of her father's death, the politician broke the ice. On Wednesday, January 8, 2025, she posted a message on his social network X declaring: “A venerable age had taken the warrior but had given us back our father. Death has come to take him back from us. Many people he loves are waiting for him up there. Many people who love him mourn him here below. Fair winds, fair seas, Dad!” A sober tribute to the creator of the National Front.
It should be noted that it was during a technical stopover in Nairobi (Kenya) on the Air Austral plane that Marine Le Pen learned of her father's death. While she was on a trip to Mayotte for several days after the devastating passage of Cyclone Chido, the latter was alerted by AFP journalists. Saddened by the news, the leader of the National Rally had kept silent until then, making only a few calls on the plane. “Then she returned to her place, tears in her eyes, silent,” a witness confided to Le Parisien.

For her part, Jean-Marie Le Pen's other daughter also addressed a few words on the networks following the death of her father. “From this sorrow, you will not be able to console me. À God Papa.” wrote Marie-Caroline Le Pen. The latter had tried a political career in the July legislative elections.
Marion Maréchal, granddaughter of Jean-Marie Le Pen, also published a long message. “Daddy, don't worry: the mission that you entrusted to me 13 years ago with your letter, I have not forgotten it (…) Throughout your life, you have inspired hundreds of thousands of vocations. You have allowed, for a long time alone against all, that millions of French people are once again proud of themselves and of their country. Thank you for all that.
