Death of Michel Blanc: “Not yet clear…”, Thierry Lhermitte circumspect and cautious

During an interview for the Journal du dimanche, Thierry Lhermitte made some revelations about the death of Michel Blanc.

Michel Blanc's death dates back to October 3rd. The actor's fans, but also and especially his close ones, including the Splendid troupe and his partner, were very touched by his departure, as evidenced by their reactions and the many tributes paid to the actor.

Since then, in almost every interview they give, Michel Blanc's friends have to answer some questions about him, and this often focuses on the circumstances of his death. Indeed, everything does not seem very clear yet.

Actor Thierry Lhermitte made some revelations on this subject in the issue of the Journal du dimanche of this December 15, 2024. He explained in particular how he learned of the departure of the actor from Le Splendid : “I was devastated; it was Josiane Balasko who told me that he had suffered a heart attack, he died a little later”, he first delivered.

Michel Blanc's great friend then spoke the still unclear circumstances of his death: “Our entire youth, a whole life spent together since high school and, on that day, the irruption of an absurd death that confronts you with the reality of life – we may know more in a few months. Everything is not yet clear,” he explained.

A personality singular

The actor suffered an anaphylactic shock: an allergic reaction that would have been accompanied by Quincke's edema, more precisely. He was then undergoing a medical examination, with a contrast product. This is a product that can be used for a scanner, an MRI or an ultrasound, for example.

Just like his character in Les Bronzés, Michel Blanc had a unique personality, and stood out in his own way from the other members of the Splendid. This is what explained Thierry Lhermitte during the interview : “He needed a form of recognition outside the gang, which he obtained, notably with an acting prize at Cannes and a César. It was Michel, always worried by a form of dissatisfaction. We were asked in the book how we managed to get along with quite different personalities, it was precisely by respecting the sensitivities of each person, Michel's, for example. He was anxious, hypochondriac, always with humor”, he explained.C
