A medical source had earlier reported 30 dead in the attack that took place on Friday, but the toll was put higher by the local resistance committee, one of hundreds of pro-democracy volunteer groups created across the country to coordinate aid on the ground during the war that has pitted the army against rival paramilitaries since April 2023.
