After an autumn season marked by heavy rainfall, the first forecasts Weather forecasts for winter are emerging: we know what awaits us!
November meant the return of snow and significant temperature variations were observed. Autumn was, more generally, punctuated by heavy precipitation. What will happen in the coming months and the beginning of winter ? A major thaw has already set in noticeable at the end of November and this should continue into early December.
According to the trends announced by Météo-France for the first week of December, "temperatures slightly above seasonal norms are expected". This being said, according to La Chaine météo , a “temporary deterioration accompanied by a drop in temperatures” is expected around December 5. Rainfall would still be quite low throughout the month. Calm and dry weather should thus be established at mid-December and during the holiday break.

“In general, December could be mild and relatively deficient in precipitation”, predicts La Chaine Météo. A little coolness could however be felt at night with possible freezing fog. The weather is therefore not looking very wintry, and snow could quickly run out in the mountains for those who were hoping to ski at Noel. It could be limited to high altitude.
In its seasonal forecasts, La Chaine Météo gives the first trends for the beginning of 2025. For January, the temperatures would be within seasonal averages. The month is forecast to be wetter than December, but this should remain on a fairly small scale. Again, snowfall at high altitudes could be limited. For February, the weather could remain seasonal and relatively calm, “without any particular signal”.”It is still too early to have more details.
“À On the scale of the December-January-February quarter, the temperatures forecast in France should remain above the seasonal averages (based on the last 30 years) with a difference of close to +0.5°C to +1°C. Precipitation, for its part, would be fairly close to the seasonal averages. on a three-month scale, indicating a slowdown in “rainy episodes”, summarizes La Chaine Météo . This scenario remains to be confirmed in light of the anticipation of forecasts, which may therefore still evolve.
