Disney+ increases its prices (again) in France except for one offer

© Disney+

This is definitely a complicated time for subscribers. Less than 24 hours after the Canal+ group announced a global increase in these offers, it is the platform of the American giant Disney that is reviewing its schedule. In detail, Disney+ announced that the increases would only apply to offers that do not contain advertising, a not very subtle way of directing the audience towards the most profitable subscription packages in their eyes.

By not touching its entry-level offer, with advertising, Disney+ is therefore still offering a “standard” offer at 5.99 euros. With such pricing, Disney+ remains on the same basis as Netflix, its direct competitor in the world of video streaming.

The new prices of Disney+ subscriptions

For users who want to avoid ad breaks in the middle of your series or film, you will have to put up with a price increase of 1 to 2 euros depending on the package you have chosen. In concrete terms, “standard” subscribers will now have to pay €9.99 (€1 extra) while “Premium” subscribers will pay €13.99 every month to Disney.

200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000

While this increase affects us in France, it actually concerns all countries in Europe. Disney+ had already revised its prices upwards in the United States during the summer, it was only a matter of time before this increase applied on the old continent.

As a reminder, when the Disney+ platform was launched in the middle of lockdown, the standard subscription was sold at €6.99 per month. It has therefore increased by €3 in just over 4 years. Another bad news for users is that in recent months, Disney+ has followed Netflix's lead and also wants to limit account sharing.

When will this increase apply ?

Normally, all Disney+ subscribers were notified of this price increase by email. In this same message, the SVOD platform gives the user the choice of whether or not to accept this new pricing. Note that if you refuse to submit to the new prices, Disney+ will simply unsubscribe you from the platform. You will no longer pay anything at all, but you will no longer have access to the American giant's catalog.

Regarding the timing of this new billing, Disney specifies that it will come into effect at the next billing, as required by law. Subscribers who have set up an annual payment system will therefore be spared for a few more weeks or months depending on the renewal date of your contract.
