A very famous ancestor. In the 1980s and 1990s, Dorothée éwas one of the French people's favorite presenters. For almost 20 years, she presented cult shows aimed at young people: Récré A2 between 1978 and 1987, then the Club Dorothée1987 to 1997. However, nothing initially predestined her to follow this path. Her father was an engineer and her mother a housewife. Dorothée initially wanted to embark on a career in tourism, before considering becoming an archaeologist. She was finally drawn to television. A wise choice that turned out to be paying when you look at her great and beautiful career.

But Dorothée could also have considered starting a career as a painter. Indeed, the former host is a descendant of great painters. From her real Frédériques Hoschédé, she is from the in-laws of Claude Monnet. She is in fact the granddaughter of Jean-Pierre Hoschedé, son-in-law of the famous painter and son of Ernest Hoschédé.

Dorothée: “Talent is not hereditary”

To be clearer, Ernest Hoschédé was married to Alice Hoschédé. Together, the couple had 6 children, including a son, Jean-Pierre Hoschédé. The artist was also a great friend of Claude Monet. But in 1875, the latter and Ernest's wife Hoschédé began an affair. The two lovers eventually ended their life together with all their children. Claude therefore partly raised Jean-Pierre Hoschédé, Dorothée's grandfather. Despite this prestigious ancestor, the host never had the necessary skills to hope to start a career in this environment. “Talent is not hereditary”, she had acknowledged to our colleagues at Télé-Loisirs in 2016.
