Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero isn't even officially available worldwide yet, but the game is already garnering multiple praises… and criticisms. The latest video game featuring the adventures of Goku, Vegeta, Trunks and other super warriors has already made the rounds of specialist editorial offices. The title is also available in early access for players who have shelled out a little more money to benefit from the Deluxe or Ultimate editions which include three days of play before the official release.

On JV.com, journalist TheXsable praises “the generosity of the casting, the quality effects, the impressive staging of the shots and the excellence of the fanservice." The game does not, however, receive a perfect score with a nice 16/20 displayed, the test criticizing in particular interfaces, cinematics and training mode which do "the bare minimum."

On the Gamekult/Les Numériques side, the new Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero receives a more mixed reception with a score of 6/10. Tester Cael also criticizes the game for a certain laziness in the menus and tutorials as well as a very uneven balance for the story mode. The journalist also points out a camera that tends to get a little lost.

Unlike the ActuGaming site which gives Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero the nearly perfect score of 9/10. Journalist Quentin praises the game's very complete basic cast as well as the single-player mode with its alternative scenarios. Since the release of Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero in early access, many Internet users have complained about the level of AI in the game's story mode. The lack of a tutorial seems to be felt since the enemies in the title use their best techniques and movements on players who are just starting out. Among the biggest difficulty spikes émentioned, we find "Great Ape Vegeta", the giant monkey version of the famous Saiyan prince that we can face at the beginning of the game.

It would therefore seem that Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is not particularly tender in its first hours of play and that the training mode is even necessary to fully understand the gameplay of the title and have a good time on the story mode.
