INFO MIDI LIBRE. New twist in the case of the influencer “Doualemn”, a 59-year-old Algerian living in Montpellier. Expelled from France this Thursday afternoon, he is on the plane returning from Algiers after the Algerian authorities refused to accept him.

The case of the Algerian influencer based in Montpellier “Doualemn” is experiencing a twist this Thursday evening, January 9, which will not fail to complicate the already tense relations between France and Algeria.

Because according to our information, this 59-year-old man was expelled this Thursday: from the administrative detention center in Nîmes, he was sent to his country of origin, Algeria.

But, at the airport, the authorities refused him access, even though he had a valid biometric passport. He was asked to take a plane in which he was to land in Paris at around 10 p.m.

According to our information, he must immediately be taken, again, to an administrative detention center in Paris.

The case began last Saturday, when the mayor of Montpellier and the prefect of Hérault reported the videos of this influencer, with 183,000 TikTok subscribers, to the prosecutor: in one of them, he attacked an individual, inciting violence against this person, an opponent of the government in Algiers.

The Montpellier public prosecutor contacted the judicial police, who took this gym cleaner into custody, who had a criminal record, including for drug cases.

He is due to be tried on February 24

The prosecutor decided to prosecute him for “incitement to commit a crime or an offense”. He was due to be tried on 24 February, but in the meantime, the Interior Ministry issued orders revoking his residence permit and making him illegal, hence the express expulsion.

His lawyers had filed appeals that must be examined by the Paris administrative court by Saturday.

“I can confirm that he is on his way back to France and that we will request that this expulsion be cancelled” reacts Mr Mousset, his lawyer.
