ELIXIR. “I can't, I have wine tasting”… Full house for the start of the introductory tasting courses

Spread the love

The introductory wine tasting courses have started at the Midi Libre headquarters. It is still possible to register.

As part of the launch of elixir, the new magazine dedicated to wines and those who make them, Midi Libreoffers wine tasting classes every first Tuesday of the month, at the newspaper's headquarters in Saint-Jean-de-Védas. For the first meeting, this Tuesday, February 4, about sixty participants were registered.

Learning to know wine also involves looking. Midi Libre – Michael Esdourrubailh

Everyone was able to taste five to six wines with the enlightened and didactic explanations of sommelier Daniel Roche, great epicurean gastronome, sommelier-consultant since 1989, trainer at the Languedoc Wine School in Montpellier. Founder in 1991 of the Club L’Epicuvin (the first tasting club in Languedoc), writer, radio columnist…” as he defines himself.

Learn to taste like a pro

To take the time to appreciate and get to know the wines tasted, each session is divided into three cycles. The opportunity to discover the secrets of the sommelier and the basics of tasting like a pro (sommelier gestures, understanding flavors and introduction to food and wine pairings that are a hit).

“Students” attentive to Daniel Roche's advice. Midi Libre – Michael Esdourrubailh

Then to look at the terroirs and trends and set off on a sensory journey to the heart of the Languedoc terroirs (emblematic grape varieties and their unique character, local gems and new tasting trends).

The experience ends with an immersive tasting where the participants' perceptions are put to the test. It is still possible to register online by clicking here and specific offers are set up for 20-30 year olds, to allow them to discover this world that they sometimes have difficulty understanding.
