We are in New York in the 80s. Edgar (9 years old), the son of Vincent, one of the city's best-known puppeteers, has disappeared. The latter tries as best he can to overcome this moment, but he ends up sinking mentally ravaged by grief.

It is then that Vincent ends up telling himself that his puppet whose name is Eric could well help him investigate the disappearance of his son and why not find him. We let you enjoy the rest of this poignant story which delicately addresses major social problems.

What do the critics say??

Eric scores a solid 61 out of 100 on Metacritic, 71% on Rotten Tomatoes, and 3.9 out of 5 on Allociné. In France, Le Parisien appreciated this creation proposed by Netflix:

Here, the atmosphere of the 1980s is well transcribed thanks to a refined image and an original soundtrack in tune. Much more than a simple thriller around the disappearance of a child, “Éric” plunges into a New York undermined by a housing crisis, where insecurity reigns, where a cop hiding his homosexuality is obsessed with an old investigation into an underage prostitution ring.

Same story from the American magazine Empire which underlines: &amp ;#8220;Real and imaginary monsters confront each other in an ambitious undertaking that manages to balance the realism of true crime with the wonder of a child. We want more, please, Netflix”.

Finally, Collider however liked it much less: “While there are plenty of individual aspects that are easy to admire, the series is a bit of a mess as a whole, a collection of ideas crammed into six hour-long episodes that Eric tries to wrap up too neatly in his final scene”.

If you've already had the opportunity to watch this series, what did you think of it?? Don't hesitate to share your point of view in the comments.
