Etoile de Bessèges, works on the Sylvéréal bridge: disruptions to be expected on the roads in the Gard

The Etoile de Bessèges cycling event starts on Wednesday. It will cross many areas of the department.

It's going to be a busy week on the departmental roads of Gard starting this Monday. two major events: the Etoile de Bessèges, which sets off on Wednesday, and the major repair work on the Sylvéréal bridge, between Aigues-Mortes and Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, will be particularly impactful.

Traffic will alternate between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Repair of the Bridge over the small Rhône

Traffic will be prohibited for heavy goods vehicles over 12 tonnes for the duration of the works.

Detour of heavy goods vehicles via Vauvert – Caissargues – Saint-Gilles.

Light vehicle traffic will be alternated by lights except for the nights of February 3 to 7 when traffic will be cut in both directions between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Detour via Aigues-Mortes, Aimargues and Saint-Gilles.

Risk of waiting at peak times.

55th Star of Bessèges – Tour du Gard:

From 02/05/2025 (12:00) to 02/09/2025 (17:00)

Between 12:00 and 17:00, road closures occur 15 to 20 minutes before the race begins.

Disruptions and slowdowns are to be expected.

Avoid the stage sectors.

The start and finish areas and some passes are closed to traffic as follows:

– Wednesday February 5: departure Bellegarde – arrival Bellegarde.

– Thursday February 6: departure Domessargues – arrival Marguerittes; + 30mn closures D907 côte de Montagnac, D3 côte de Cabrières and D979 gorges Saint-Nicolas

– Friday February 7: departure Bessèges – arrival Bessèges. + 30mm closures D162 cols de Trélis, D130 col des Brousses, D167 Méjannes Le Clap, D979 côte de Tharaux

– Saturday February 8: departure Vauvert – arrival Mont Bouquet (D607 12h-18h). + 30mn closure D1 côte de Clarensac

– Sunday 09 February: Time trial in Alès. RD50 and RD385A closed from 12:00 to 17:00 towards l'Ermitage and Saint-Jean-du-Pin.
