IN BRIEF

  • Actress and singer Jennifer Lopez stars in the film Unstoppable, which will be available on January 16, 2025 on Prime Video.
  • She plays a mother who never gives up and encourages her son to pursue his dreams.
  • On the occasion, she confided in Closer about the parallels between her role and her own journey.

Jennifer Lopez has been the talk of the town for her relationship with Ben Affleck lately, but that's far from the most interesting thing about her. The singer and actress was recently interviewed by Closer to talk about her upcoming film, Unstoppable. In this fiction based on a true story, she plays the mother of a disabled athlete, Anthony Robles, who became one of the greatest wrestling champions in the United States.

And if there is one thing that Judy Robles and Jennifer Lopez have in common, it is their resilience and their ability to face adversity. In her interview, the mother explained : “Judy Robles is an absolutely extraordinary woman, and I, for one, have a deep respect for her. (…) I had the chance to meet her, and it was a life-changing experience. She told me about her journey, including the challenges she faced when she became a mother at only 16 years old.”.

Jennifer Lopez: “There is no room for resignation”

The opportunity for Jennifer Lopez to emphasize that motherhood has taught her a lot. She also wants to “offer all the best” to her children. This sometimes means making compromises with certain complicated situations. Indeed the star announced last August to want to separate from her husband, Ben Affleck, after only two years of marriage.

But things were done amicably, and Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck even agreed to keep a friendly relationship for their children. However, after such an ordeal, the singer has once again risen. According to her, there is no other possibility. “I have always had this will to fight. I firmly believe that there is no room for resignation in life” she begins. And to continue: “You have to get up, fight, question yourself and continue, whatever the obstacles. I have always been a fighter and I will remain one until the end of my days!”.

Jennifer Lopez will be on the poster for Unstoppable in 2025

A mentality that Jennifer Lopez has always adopted and which she particularly liked when she heard the pitch for the film Unstoppable. “I wanted to embody this mother who, against all odds, never stopped supporting her son, believing in him. This message of hope is essential. It reminds us that, whatever the situation, there is always a way to get back up, to move forward, to believe in your dreams and fight for them. And that speaks to me deeply, because that's what I experience on a daily basis” concludes the actress. Unstoppable will be available on January 16, 2025 in France on Prime Video.
