Last night, you tried to send a photo on WhatsApp, but to no avail. You then decided to comment on this photo on Instagram, but nothing worked. You then tried to take refuge on Facebook or Threads. Nothing worked, everything was blocked. In a few minutes, while the average is usually 16 reports per hour, Facebook recorded no less than 97,000 reports on Downdetector. But what's happening at Meta ?
Another massive outage at Meta
This isn't the first time, but Meta has suffered a new global technical outage, which has impacted the interactions that can be carried out on the various applications of the American giant. Note that it was on the X network, Threads' nemesis, that Meta decided to publish a message to warn its millions of users.
Let us recall that last October, many users had already been victims of a similar outage, particularly when accessing Facebook and Instagram. In the evening, Meta's teams therefore got busy resolving the problem, and this Thursday morning, all of the group's services are fully operational.
At present, Meta has not deigned to give any explanations for this new outage that has affected its services. As for its data centers, we know that the American group will soon switch to nuclear power for their power supply. Nuclear power is indeed one of the options favored by tech giants to power their data centers, while energy needs are exploding with the race for artificial intelligence.

Moreover, if for a few weeks now you have the impression of having suddenly become (even more) addicted to Facebook or Instagram, it is possible that it is not just an impression. Thanks to the use of AI, the group indicates that it has been able to increase the time spent by users on its platforms. If you're the type to scroll endlessly on Instagram or Facebook, rest assured, you're not alone.
