False intrusion alert in a high school

#ALES This Monday, December 9, shortly after 8 a.m., an intrusion alert was triggered at the Jean-Baptiste-Dumas high school in Alès. According to Commissioner Emmanuel Dumas, it was launched following the testimony of a student, who had seen a man enter with, possibly, a handgun. The individual turned out to be a new CPE who had recently arrived, carrying a cell phone in a case attached to his belt.

For security reasons “the entire establishment was searched”. No handgun was found. Other nearby establishments were also confined for safety reasons during the intervention. The commissioner insists: “Contrary to many false reports and videos that have circulated on social networks, there was no hostage-taking.”

Since the start of the alert, videos had, in fact, shown one or more armed men apparently circulating in the JBD compound. Videos that turned out to be false. The students returned to their classrooms in the middle of the morning.

Skiing: resorts open

#PYRENEES-ORIENTALES After Font-Romeu, which opened a few slopes this weekend, the other ski resorts are also benefiting from the latest snowfall to launch the season, announces L’Indépendant. In Les Angles, where 50 cm of powder snow fell, the opening is scheduled for this Thursday, December 12.

The Porté resort will welcome its snow sports enthusiasts from Friday, December 13. Formiguères and Cambre d’Aze should follow at the end of next week depending on the weather. La Llagonne and La Quillane, smaller resorts have not yet given a date.

Aligot- saucisse 2.0

#LOZÈRE Originally from Mende, Louis Darney has opened a unique aligot restaurant in the 18th arrondissement of Paris. With Hal’igot, he is to date the only one to offer the emblematic Aubrac dish with a halal or vegetarian sausage. “It's a dish that suits everyone. 95% of people like it. But a lot of people don't know it. I thought there was potential,” explains the restaurateur.

This initiative could have gone unnoticed if it weren't for a viral video, published on the X and TikTok accounts of the account “On mange quoi! ?”. In just two weeks, it has totaled more than 10 million views. The restaurateur, accused of “distorting a tradition”, has been the subject of a wave of hateful remarks..

Today's figure: 30

#MONTPELLIER This is the number of backpacks that Providence middle school students have prepared to help homeless people face the winter. After the 6th and 5th grades sold raffle tickets to raise as much money as possible, purchases were made for basic equipment.

The 4th and 3rd grades completed with a small kit to keep warm – socks, hats, gloves and everyone gave a little to make small bags containing essentials.

Montpellier's Fabcaro is working on the 41st Asterix

#CULTURE From now on, he will have to be called Fabcarix! Two years after “L’Iris blanc”, the 40th opus whose French version sold 2.2 million copies, Montpellier-based Fabrice Caro (photo Christophe Guibbaud), Fabcaro by his stage name, revealed that he was writing the screenplay for the 41st Asterix adventure, scheduled for release in October 2025. “I am all the more delighted because I came to do only one”, he says.

His replacement for Jean-Yves Ferri therefore extends over the course of a new adventure, this time focused on travel. “I looked for a destination where our friends have never been, but also a place where I wanted to immerse myself for the time of writing”, he reveals… without specifying where he will take Asterix and Obelix. By Toutatis, we will have to wait to find out.
