Fantastic Four: what if this film reconciled us with Marvel ?

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has been in difficulty for several years now but all hope is not lost. The Disney studio is indeed banking on several projects to relaunch itself. So it is with Deadpool 3 starting next summer. Fantastic Four, which will be released on July 23, 2025, also represents great hope.

Optimism is in order

Recently, Joseph Quinn, who will play the Human Torch in this feature film, expressed his trust. Quoted by Entertainment Weekly, the British actor explained: “Superhero productions are films about people. And if we invest ourselves in the people, the characters, the dangers and the spectacle, then the audience will respond in the theaters. We're going to go all out”.

And the latter adds:

Some aspects are very different from other Marvel films. This seemed very convincing to me. And going back to the people involved, Matt, of course, the director, is brilliant, as well as the actors, and I read it and the script is very good.

Filmmaker Matt Shakman had already sent a message of hope to fans of the saga last year. He emphasized:

It's different in many ways. (…) But we do things very differently from a story perspective, from a cinematic approach perspective, it's really true to the source material. (…) I think it's going to be a departure from anything you've seen before, especially anything you've seen previously from Marvel.

A turning point for Marvel ?

As a reminder, the cast of Fantastic Four is already largely known and it is promising. In addition to Joseph Quinn, we will have the pleasure of meeting Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian), Vanessa Kirby (The Queen), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Bear), or even Julia Garner who bursts the screen in Ozark.

This film could also mark a turning point in the MCU by introducing a major antagonist who would be none other than Doctor Doom who would replace Kang the Conqueror, whose the performer, Jonathan Majors, was found guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend last December.
