Four days after the somewhat crazy defeat after extra time (83-86) against Charnay, Sunday, the Gazelles will have to roll up their sleeves to move forward on the Rutronik Stars Keltern pitch (Germany), for the first leg of the 8th final of the Eurocup.

No more room for regrets after the championship setback, Valéry Demory's protégés traveled to the German border by train, a welcome journey to rest while observing the opponent's game. The latter is the leader of the German championship with only one defeat to its name and therefore an extremely positive record with 13 victories.

Two French women in Keltern

The BLMA will also find old faces from the French championship during its trip to Keltern. Johanna Muzet (Lyon and Charnay) and Angelina Turmel (Angers) are part of the German squad this season.

After finishing second in their group, the Rutronik Stars managed to take out Tarbes quite easily (60-45; 71-50) in the round of 16. A surprising result given their position at the start of the final stages since the Germans were not seeded. “We watched them play against Tarbes so we're warned”, Hortense Limouzin believes.

So caution is on the part of the BLMA, who are at full strength for this trip, and who are being very cautious despite the home advantage for the return match in a week in Lattes.

The other matches of the French clubs involved in the Eurocup: Estudiantes – Villeneuve-d’Ascq; Galatasaray – Lyon; Angers – Besiktas.
