It was back to school early for Garmin. The American brand, a specialist in the design of sports equipment, has just held a major presentation conference. On the menu, two new smartwatches, described as the most powerful, durable and versatile in the world.

The Fenix ​​8 is the more powerful of the two. It is the perfect blend of the technical characteristics of the Fenix ​​7, already the most powerful smartwatch in the world, and the Epix Gen 2 Pro. But the American brand has also heard users' complaints about a lack of animation within its watch. It has therefore taken inspiration from the user experience of the Forennuer, another Garmin range, to make using the Fenix ​​8 as pleasant as possible.

Still available with a “Solar” mode, the smartwatch can thus reach (on the 51 mm model) 48 days of battery life. Designed to push its limits, the Fenix ​​8 can follow athletes on all terrains, whether in high mountains or scuba diving.

As for the screen, this is the big new feature of the year, Garmin opts for AMOLED technology. The brand promises more light and less glare for perfect use in all conditions. The “Solar” models remain with a MIP screen, like previous generations. Garmin nevertheless announces that charging has been improved by 50% compared to the Fenix ​​7.

Garmin Enduro 3

In addition to this Fenix ​​8 which is breaking all records, Garmin took advantage of a press conference from Chamonix in France, the starting city of the UTMB, the most world's largest ultra-trail race, to introduce another, slightly more accessible smartwatch. This is the Enduro 3.

With this watch, As the name suggests, the focus has been on battery life. The device is thus capable of operating for 320 hours in GPS mode. That's more than 13 days of sport that await the owners of this watch outside standard.

Prices and availability

The new Garmin Fenix ​​8 and Enduro 3 are available now on the Garmin website and at several retailers. They come in a multitude of versions, allowing all sportsmen to find the watch they need.

For example, the Fenix ​​8 comes in 5 different versions. The first three with an AMOLED screen (43 mm, 47 mm and 51 mm) and the two “Solar” versions with 47 and 51 millimeter panels. The price also varies from one version to another. The most accessible is the 47 mm Solar with its MIP screen sold at €999.99. The most expensive, the 51 mm AMOLED version sold at €1299.99.

Like every year, Garmin also offers an “E” version of its watch. More accessible (€799.99), this watch is made of aluminum and not titanium. The case measures 47 mm. As for the Enduro 3, it is only available in 51 mm (too bad for small wrists). It is sold for €899.99. It is already possible to order it on the Garmin website.
