Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: while waiting for the test, the demo is waiting for you

It is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated games of this year 2024, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is preparing its arrival on PlayStation 5, with the start of the festivities scheduled for February 29. After a first part launched in 2020 on PS4, the remake of Final Fantasy VII will therefore continue in a few weeks, with this highly (very) anticipated sequel. Last night, Sony organized a State of Play entirely dedicated to the Square-Enix game.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, a demo (while waiting for the test)

Indeed, after a first State of Play a few days ago revealing (among other things) the first images of Silent Hill 2 (the first opus has just celebrated its 25th anniversary), PlayStation rolled out the red carpet for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, with a brand new four-minute trailer, full of references to the Square-Enix saga, without forgetting a long gameplay sequence.

Subsequently, the event allowed players to discover a more complete presentation than ever of what awaits them in this sequel. We will obviously be able to take advantage of a larger map, with various regions to visit such as the Grasslands, Junon, Corel, Gongaga, Cosmo Canyon or even Nibel… without forgetting the ocean. There will also be small jobs to do, mini-games, as well as a new card game.

The work provided by Square-Enix was already colossal on the first opus, but the teams clearly seem to have worked extra hard here, with the added bonus of much more aggressive communication on the part of the publisher&#8230 ; sometimes even if it means revealing a little too much. Note that, unlike the first opus, this Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will only be available on PS5.

And the good news is that a playable demo (48 GB all the same) is now available on the PS Store. This includes the Nibelheim flashback and allows you to play both Cloud and Sephiroth.

Note that this will benefit from an update on February 21, to allow players to travel through the Junon region. Obviously, the complete test of this new Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be available soon in the columns of Presse-citron. A little more “Kalm” so, before the storm…
