What could have been a real nice curiosity, will ultimately not be one: selected by the captain of the French team Paul-Henri Matthieu to play the Davis Cup match against Brazil, Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard will not be able to take part in the Open Occitanie 2025.

And for good reason, the first round of France against the Brazilians is scheduled for February 1st and 2nd in Orléans, at the same time as the semi-final and final of the Montpellier tournament.

Another player registered on the table selected with France

The training course starting, at the very least, at the beginning of the week at the start of the Open, the absence of Mpetshi Perricard has been noted, have confirmed the organizers at Midi Libre, despite the Lyonnais' real desire to come and discover the Sud de France Arena.

Emmanuel Planque's protégé will probably not be the only one to have to withdraw from the final draw in Montpellier. In addition to Arthur Fils, Ugo Humbert, Mpetshi Perricard and Pierre-Hugues Herbert, the captain of the French team announced that he will select a new player at the end of the Australian Open.

Gaël Monfils is probably not concerned by yet another selection, unlike Alexandre Müller (57th) or Arthur Rinderknech (60th), both registered for the Open Occitanie 2025. Unless it is Corentin Moutet (68th), already selected for the Paris 2024 Olympics, who will enter the final table of the Open thanks to Mpetshi's withdrawal.
