Born in 1972, the Renault 5 is an automobile monument in France. In 2024, the little R5 will make its big comeback, in “electric” obviously, with the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric. For Renault designers, it was an opportunity to reinterpret the many details anchored in the collective imagination in the light of electricity and the 21st century.
The new Renault 5 E-Tech electric is the first vehicle entirely designed on AmpR Small, the new Ampere platform dedicated to electric vehicles in the B segment. A platform which, according to Renault, allows &# 8220;many economies of scale without compromising on electrical components and technologies useful to customers“.

In terms of looks, the hood ventilation grille of the original model has been reinvented to be more in tune with the times. It is replaced by a charge indicator whose graphic forms an emblematic number 5 which lights up when the driver approaches the vehicle. Also note a welcome sequence in the form of a wink sent by the pupil-shaped LED headlights, to symbolize man/machine interaction.
Note that the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric will be offered at launch with 5 colors, in order to maintain the pop side desired by Renault, starting of course with a yellow color, but also a white pearly. Special series are already planned.

Under the hood, the electric motor of this new Renault 5 E-Tech Electric is more compact than that of Mégane E-Tech Electric (of which our test can be found here) and Scénic E-Tech Electric, from which it is nevertheless derived.
This will be offered in three power levels, namely 110, 90 or 70 kW. It will be coupled to a 52 kWh battery, enough to give “up to 400 km” autonomy according to the manufacturer.

On board, the new Renault 5 E-Tech Electric will also inaugurate Reno, the official Renault avatar. The latter wants to be a true traveling companion, “both intelligent and complicit“.
Developed by Renault to facilitate and enhance its customers' electric car experience and make it more intuitive, Reno can respond to occupants' questions, via the Hey Reno formula.

Recall that Renault Group has chosen to produce its Renault 5 E-Tech Electric in France, including for its battery from the summer of 2025. Each vehicle and the batteries will thus be assembled at the Renault factory. Douai.
Price-wise, Renault wants to be competitive, with an entry price of around €25,000 60~/em>“. Marketing planned for the start of the 2024 school year.
