Five Canadians died in a plane crash Monday evening in Nashville, Tennessee, according to the Transportation Safety Board of Canada.
The plane crashed near a highway due to engine failure.
At least that's what the pilot told the control tower around 7:40 a.m. local time Monday, requesting permission to land, according to a local police spokesperson.

For its part, the Nashville Fire Department claims that the plane imploded when it crashed to the ground. The impact was catastrophic and left no survivors, the spokesperson said.
