Invited this Saturday, January 25, 2025 in the show “50 minutes inside” on TF1, Florent Pagny confided in his state of health and his fight against lung cancer. The 63-year-old singer, who had to be absent for two seasons from The Voice, seems to be doing better. He is also preparing his return to the red chair of the television talent show, as well as a new album and a tour for January 2026.

A long-awaited return to The Voice

After two years of absence, Florent Pagny will soon return to his coach's chair on The Voice. A very emotional moment for the artist who had learned of his terrible diagnosis during his last participation in the show. “I went back to my dressing room and I felt like I had never left“, he confided to Isabelle Ithurburu.

The singer highlights the stability and kindness of the team of the talent show hosted by Nikos Aliagas: “I missed two seasons, but the team has always remained the same in 14 years. You have in all the positions, the same looks and the same people that you appreciate, with whom you have already collaborated and who are happy to see you again“. A reassuring framework for Florent Pagny who now aspires to focus on positive and stimulating projects.

Florent Pagny looks to the future

While cancer has occupied an important place in his life over the last three years, Florent Pagny no longer wants the disease to be the center of attention. “Cancer is not something I think about“, he says. “I think about it when I talk about it, but it's taken up so much space in three years that you don't want it to bring you bad luck to talk about it. So I want to say “forget it, let's move on to something else” because if it didn't work out, I wouldn't be here and I wouldn't express myself in that way“.

The singer wants to reassure his audience about his health and look to the future. He is thus preparing a new album and a tour that will begin in January 2026.

Staying vigilant in the face of illness

Even if he no longer wants to focus on the illness, Florent Pagny remains aware of the need for monitoring regular. “Cancer is part of life's moments, we don't choose it. We live with a sword of Damocles hanging over our heads. We have to check. Every three months, we'll check. I'm waiting for the next one. There's never any certainty. This is the problem with this disease“, he explains.

The singer compares cancer to a crab that can remain attached and resurface at any time. A metaphor that well illustrates the unpredictable nature of the disease. However, Florent Pagny refuses to live constantly with this threat and concludes: “We only think about it when things go badly“. A positive philosophy that should help him to approach this new stage of his life serenely.
