They finished hand in hand. On Sunday, January 5, in Saint-Gervasy, the Nîmes soldier and triathlete Vincent Dufournaud, winner in 2024 (40’14’’), and the Gueugnonnais who now lives in Avignon Valentin Chartrier did not fight for victory.

The results of the 10th edition of the Course des 3 collines

At the end of the 10.500 km of a fairly hilly course – “You have to manage your effort well because you can quickly explode”, noted Dufournaud –, they crossed the finish line of the 10th edition of the Course des 3 collines holding hands. Their time: 41’09’’.

“We put in a lot of effort for four to five kilometers. We attacked and counter-attacked”, says Valentin Chartrier. “I was stronger than him on the climbs but he was better at picking up speed than me on the flat and on the descents”, adds Vincent Dufournaud, who explains: “Two kilometers from the finish, we agreed to finish together. It happened naturally, in a good spirit.”

The duo beat Anthony Bernard (Cap Bombonera, 41’28’’), Côme Le Net (Nîmes Triathlon, 42’26’’) and Thibault Conte (42’34’’).

Mélanie Hrebicek first female

First female like last year, in 42’51’’, the local of the stage Mélanie Hrebicek (Cap Bombonera), who is stringing together victories, took a very nice 6th place overall.

“This is my home, here! These are not paths that I often take but I know them well, smiles the one who will participate in her first French trail championship next July. Clara (Gutherz, Alès CA, 2nd in 44’11’’) boosted me. She was just behind so I told myself that I had to pull myself out a bit.”

In 46’36’’, Marion Bourrellier completed the women's podium.
