“France is doing badly and France needs its children”: in the Gard, interfaith wishes under the sign of emotion

The traditional interfaith wishes of the Gard were held this Sunday, January 5, carrying messages of peace and charged with emotion.

More than 400 people attended, Sunday, January 5, late afternoon, in the Milhaud village hall, the traditional wishes of the Nîmes Interfaith Committee (CIRN).

The theme “Let's open paths of hope”

Citizens, members of the Christian, Jewish and Muslim religions, but also personalities such as Senator Laurent Burgoa; former Minister Georgina Dufoix; the President of the Bar Association, Séverine Moulis; the President of Nîmes Métropole, Franck Proust; the Bishop of Nîmes, Nicolas Brouwet, the Mayor of Milhaud, Jean-Luc Descloux, and the Nîmes Deputy Delegate for Security, Richard Schieven.

“The theme “Let's open paths of hope”, chosen by our Committee, is a wonderful response to our commitment in the current situation”, stressed Father Serge Cauvas, priest of the south-west parishes, surrounded by Daniel Benfredj, a member of the Jewish community, and Pastor Titia Es-Sbanti, who stressed “the attention paid by the CIRN to everything that is happening and being done in our neighborhoods to advance the fragile living together”.

“France is in a bad way and France needs its children, said, very moved, Driss El Moudni, president of the Muslim faith council and the CIRN.
