François Bayrou a effectué plusieurs déplacements à Nîmes ces dernières années en 2015, 2009 et 2008 et 2005.

François Bayrou, newly appointed Prime Minister, has strong ties with the Gard and local politicians since he has made regular visits, particularly to Nîmes for meetings or political visits. In 2015, he visited the tram bus facilities alongside the former president of Nîmes Métropole Yvan Lachaud. Contacted this Sunday, December 15, the former MP and now municipal councilor reacted positively to the appointment of his political companion. “I think he is a man who is capable of bringing together democrats from both the right and the left. He is a sympathetic man and loyal in friendship. He is a true statesman. Even though I am now in Horizons (in Edouard Philippe's party), I have very good relations with François Bayrou. I worked with him for a long time on issues relating to National Education” . In Nîmes, the former Minister of National Education and former Keeper of the Seals, has several political contacts such as the former MP (Modem) Philippe Berta or again Corine Ponce-Casanova, current municipal councilor.
