Free games, promotions, updates… How to enjoy (fully) the Fallout madness

A few months ago, The Last of Us series allowed Sony to reach a very wide range of players, the ideal opportunity to (re)launch the interest of video games, not to mention the arrival of a certain The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered at the very beginning of this year 2024. In recent days, it's another video game that has been thrilling the big screen: Fallout.

How Fallout Rebirth… Fallout!

As The Last of Us is affiliated with Sony, the Fallout video game saga is in the hands of the giant Microsoft, since the acquisition of Besthesda. And even though Fallout 4 is almost ten years old, the series currently broadcast on Amazon Prime Video allows it to sit in the Top 20 most played games on Steam.

Many players have decided to (re)launch the game, carried away by the hype around the TV series. Beyond Fallout 4, Fallout 76 and Fallout New Vegas have also seen a certain resurgence of interest from players.

On the Bethesda side, we obviously took advantage of the release of the TV series to launch various promotions concerning the Fallout games. “To celebrate the release of Fallout on Amazon Prime, Fallout 76 is launching a week of free play and promotions on all platforms” explains the publisher in particular. Enough to revive interest in this particularly unloved episode, the Fallout 76 week ending this April 18 at 6 p.m.

At Xbox, we can also count on Xbox Game Pass to stock up on Fallout. Subscribers can find Fallout 3, Fallout 4, but also Fallout 76 and Fallout New Vegas.

And that's not all, since Fallout 4 (launched in November 2015) will soon benefit from an update dedicated to PS5 and Xbox Series. A “next-gen” as they say, the launch date of which is set for April 25. The latter will notably allow you to play at 60 fps, or to benefit from a 4K quality display. Additionally, the game will also be optimized for the Steam Deck.

Even though Microsoft’has not offered a real “new” Fallout to accompany the series, players can therefore benefit from numerous promotions and other updates to (re)put themselves in this very special atmosphere. Remember that the very first opus of the license dates back to 1997 (on PC), while Fallout 76, launched in 2018, constitutes the latest episode.
