Free Mobile increases its data allowance again: smoke and mirrors ?

When the&amp ;#8217;we are looking for a reasonably priced package (or more simply “a cheap package“), we obviously tend to look at certain operators, and in particular RED by SFR, Sosh or even the essential Free Mobile. And to rally as many curious people as possible to its cause, Free Mobile is playing the card of overbidding on the data side, with in particular a 5G plan that went from 250 GB to 300 GB a few months ago, while maintaining its price of €19.99.

Even more GB in the Free 5G plan

Today, Free is taking a new step by optimizing this same 5G plan again. From now on, and still for €19.99, the Free 5G package allows its owner to benefit from a gargantuan data package of 350 GB. Enough to tip the scales in the eyes of all those who swear by this precious package, through which we will be able to take full advantage of TikTok, Spotify, Netflix, YouTube, online games…

However, it is worth noting that this new feature is more of a purely marketing operation than a real need for the user. Indeed, for the vast majority of mobile subscribers, the average use of the data package is limited to a few dozen GB at most.

But at Free Mobile, they obviously want to make a big splash, by always doing better than the competition. A significant change in the eyes of some, but which should not have the slightest impact on Free Mobile, as users who reach the end of the 300 GB already offered are extremely rare.

No change, however, in the data envelope allocated abroad, which remains fixed at 35 GB from more than a hundred destinations. Again, this is still more than enough to cover the needs of a subscriber during a business trip or even during a vacation.

Let us recall that when it launched its mobile offer in 2012, the operator Free Mobile offered a data package of 3 GB, which was already rather generous for the time (given the price of the subscription). It was in 2017 that the operator reached 100 GB, and the package now peaks at 350 GB, with a 4G and 5G compatible package.

Finally, let us specify that this increase in the data package is effective today for all subscribers to the Free 5G package. The switch is done automatically, and without any additional cost.
