From January 1, 2025, a new mandatory medical examination for children
From January 1, 2025, a new mandatory medical examination will be introduced for 6-year-old children. This measure, adopted at the Pediatrics and Child Health Conference in May 2024, follows the recommendations of the High Council for Public Health (HCSP). We explain everything to you.
From birth to the age of 16, a child must undergo 20 mandatory medical examinations. These allow for monitoring of their health until adolescence.
As of January 1, 2025, a new examination will be added at age 6. Why this age specifically ?
200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000This choice is not insignificant. The HCSP emphasizes the crucial importance of entering the preparatory course, a period during which the child must mobilize many adaptation and learning capacities. This examination aims to detect potential difficulties early on to ensure optimal schooling.
A complete development assessment
The new medical check-up includes an in-depth assessment of several aspects: physical growth, oral health, vision, hearing, sleep quality, exposure to screens, physical activity and vaccination status. Particular attention is also paid to psychosocial development, including language, socialization and autonomy.
The total number of examinations remains unchanged
To integrate this new medical appointment without making the schedule too long, the examination scheduled between the 3rd week and the end of the child's 1st month will be eliminated.
The total number of mandatory examinations thus remains stable at 20. These consultations continue to be fully covered by Health Insurance.
