Full lips, orange complexion, high cheekbones: what is the “Mar-a-Lago face”, this trend within the pro-Trump camp ?

It's not just an impression. The faces that appear next to Donald Trump look very similar. Full lips and puffy cheekbones, this trend is called the  "Mar-A-Lago face".

It has become trendy in the United States and dubbed by the American media the: “Mar-A-Lago face”.

This new slogan refers to Donald's luxurious villa named Mar-a-Lago which is located in Florida and the new faces of the characters of the pro-Trump camp. A tanned complexion, plump cheekbones, luscious lips. Such results obviously obtained by cosmetic surgery.

That famous orange color on the face of the new president of the United States is not applied by the makeup artist, but by himself! “I am not responsible for Donald Trump's orange complexion!”, Audrey Lefevre, Donald Trump's makeup artist, a French expat in the United States, told our colleagues at Nouvel Obs. “He's almost as pale as an albino,” she added, explaining that the billionaire insisted on applying his own self-tanner. An orange color is also apparent on the face of his daughter-in-law Lara Trump, according to Marianne.

Appearance as a priority

A trend visible among both men and women close to the tycoon, with for example the case of Matt Gaetz, a former elected official in Florida. “They don't necessarily look deformed, but they don't look like they used to. It's a plastic look, akin to the Kardashian look,” surgeon Anthony Youn told the Daily Mail. “The calling card for the rich used to be a handbag. Now it's a face.”

According to the New York Post, plastic surgeon Dr. Norman Rowe actually opened a new practice in Florida, just a few miles from Mar-a-Lago, last year to meet the growing demand. The latter receives 15 patients a day in Palm Beach, most of whom ask for facelifts, Botox or salmon sperm injections.
