17:19 – Les Bleus imprécises

In front of his zone, Mouhoudine sends a long cross towards his pivot Mohammed which is much too long. Les Bleus are still trailing 2-1 while there are just over ten minutes left to play.

What a start to the first half! Three goals in less than eight minutes and the Argentinians regain the lead on the Argentinians' special. Borruto sends a model ball to the second post towards Claudino, who finishes easily.

Found with his back to goal, Nicolas Menendez puts himself on his left foot and crosses his shot to deceive Sarmiento.

Brandi played the shot well. Lokoka misses his exit and mows down the Argentinian. Ryan Shepheard does not hesitate and whistles a penalty.

17:03 – First strike

On the side left, Claudino stares at Guirio and puts himself on his right foot before triggering but it is not framed.

16:45 – Three confrontations

On August 31, the Blues met to prepare for the World Cup where they faced Argentina in Orleans. Beaten 5-3 in the fourth preparation match, the Blues suffered their first defeat in sixteen matches and fourteen months. “We will have to be able to to do more, not only to compete but the objective being to go to the final we will have to do more than in Orleans. We have prepared. The World Cup has also helped us to progress. We will do it with a lot of humility but also a lot of conviction, the conviction that we can put this “Argentine team in difficulty”, underlined Raphaël Reynaud in reference to this last defeat. In history, the two nations have faced each other three times: in August 2024 after two friendly matches in May and June 2019 (4-1 defeat then 4-4 draw).

At a press conference, Raphaël Reynaud set the scene for this match that promises to be historic for the Blues: “The team knows each other, the game plan is identified, we know what we have to do and there was no need to add the historical aspect to all that. I think it's the biggest challenge in the history of the French team. Today, we are not in a preparation match, not in a friendly match. We are in a World Cup semi-final and against one of the greatest teams that exist. So it is the biggest challenge. We'll see what happens to us, but in any case we'll give ourselves all the means”.

To eliminate Argentina and qualify for the final, the Blues will start at kick-off with Francis Lokoka, Souheil Mouhoudine, Ouassini Guirio, Ayoud Saadaoui and Abdessamad Mohammed.
