Samsung presented its Galaxy Watch Ultra on July 10, the in-house competitor to the Apple Watch Ultra, updated last summer by the Apple brand. Can the eponymous product, from Busan in South Korea, overshadow the Apple Watch Ultra 2 ? Answer in this comparison.
From the outside, the two watches don't have much in common. Samsung in fact maintains a round shape, very different from Apple's square watch. On the choice of colors also, the two companies differ. Apple relies on orange keys, notably on the Action button, to distinguish an Apple Watch Ultra on the wrist. Samsung is more sensible, with sober colors.
If the watches are aesthetically different, they nevertheless share many common points. The first is the use of titanium. Samsung has chosen, like Apple, to use this ultra-resistant metal to build a quality watch.
But Samsung has more than one ace up its sleeve. The South Korean brand can notably count on Galaxy AI, its in-house artificial intelligence tool. Samsung promises that this integration will facilitate the monitoring of health data. The brand notably announces the arrival of an “energy score” available every morning. Sleep analysis should also benefit from the arrival of Galaxy AI, with an increased precision of 30%.

AI-related features that simply don't exist on the Apple Watch Ultra 2. Apple has made several announcements of similar options, with the arrival of Apple Intelligence, but this feature is not yet present in a smartwatch.
Could the arbiter between these two watches be the price ? While high-end products see their prices soar. In order to combat the explosion of prices on wearables, Samsung has decided to “limit” with a “content” sale price for its Galaxy Watch Ultra. It is marketed by the South Korean firm from 699 euros in a 47mm format.
On the Cupertino side, Apple has not been as generous on the sale price. The Apple Watch Ultra 2 retails for €849, which is €150 more than Samsung's Galaxy Watch Ultra.
But the unbeatable argument of all Apple products is undoubtedly their integration within the ecosystem. While Samsung has made great efforts in this area in recent years, it is difficult to imagine it competing with Apple.
Apple has made its ecosystem its trademark, it does not intend to be overtaken by its long-standing rival, despite Samsung's notable efforts.
