The latest generation of Samsung's foldable smartphones is now official. Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 place a strong emphasis on Galaxy AI's artificial intelligence features. All in more advanced technological iterations.

This concerns, among other things, the arrival of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip on both models, but also a more efficient vapor chamber, or even # 8217;resistance to IP48 elements (the 4 meaning resistance to dust particles larger than 1 mm).

A welcome new feature, since dust resistance was previously in no way guaranteed.

On the technical sheet side, we note as a strong point the arrival of the brand new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip from Qualcomm. Engraved in 4 nm and optimized for AI applications, it is the keystone of all Galaxy AI features offered on this model.

Some screens, like the Z Fold6's external screen, are slightly larger (in this case by 0.1″). And there is a new guaranteed dust resistance (IP5X) which is however not complete… only objects larger than one millimeter should no longer be able to fit into the casing. Which always requires a little caution when using.

Both devices are now supported for 7 years for major and security updates. A standard now higher than what Apple practices on its iPhones, until now rather leaders on this point.

Finally the biggest new features of these two smartphones come down to a few rather minor points on the hardware part – plus all the AI features of Galaxy AI, such as the Notes Assistant which offers translation, summaries and automatic formatting. There's also Generative Editing, or even Smart Selection.

All this comes with S-Pen support on the Fold6 model (unavailable on the Samsung Galaxy Flip6 model). On top of that, both smartphones replace the traditional Google Assistant with Google Gemini, allowing for more useful and natural voice interactions.

Both devices should also run a little cooler than their predecessors, thanks to a heat dissipation system centered around a larger and more efficient vapor chamber.

Here again, Samsung refines the experience but without really making any changes that are too brutal. The angles of the internal screen are less rounded and tighter, allowing the useful display surface to be maximized. Same thing on the external screen – As for the photo modules, they are physically more imposing, and surrounded by a new ring engraved with fine grooves which play with the light for a purely aesthetic effect.

The Galaxy Z Flip6 also evolves quite marginally. The most visible change is undoubtedly the cutting of the cover screen, whose useful surface area rises a little above the level of the dual photo sensor. Here again, it seems that the choice is essentially aesthetic, with little support for making a strong commercial argument on the side of the OneUI overlay.

The colors are undoubtedly the point of differentiation that will be most noticed. On the Z Fold6 we are thus entitled to the colors Navy, Silver Shadow, Pink, Black and White. The Z Flip6 model, and available in Yellow, Silver Shadow, Mint, Blue, Black, White and Peach.
