Godzilla x Kong: this legendary fight will amaze us

In less than a month now, on April 3, 2024, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, this new opus from the Monsterverse, will be released in French cinemas. After Godzilla vs Kong, and given the first trailers, this film from Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros promises to amaze us.

What is the story of Godzilla x Kong ?

The official synopsis of this feature film is already known. Here it is in full:

This new film follows the explosive confrontation of Godzilla vs. Kong with an all-new cinematic adventure, pitting the mighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal threat hidden in our world, calling into question their very existence – and ours. This epic new film will delve deeper into the history of these Titans, their origins and the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while unveiling the mythical battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and bind them to humanity forever.

By observing these images, we see very clearly that this new component is resting on his achievements. There are certainly some endearing human characters, but the public mainly comes to see the two monsters at work and very spectacular fights on the big screen.

When Godzilla changes of color

Casting side, Rebecca Hall (Iron Man 3) is back in her role as Doctor Ilene Andrews. Alongside him, we will also see Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta) again who plays Bernie Hayes whom we had already seen in the previous film. Let's also mention Dan Stevens (The Rental), Alex Ferns (The Batman), or Fala Chen (Irma Vep).

But as we indicated above, the real stars of the film are the creatures aka Kong and Godzilla. As we can see in a trailer, the latter has seen its design reworked. In an interview given on the occasion of the IGN Fan Fest, the director, Adam, commented:

It's interesting because in the last movie, Godzilla vs. Kong, it was very important to me that Godzilla remained consistent with King of Monsters, so that there would be continuity in terms of fighting Kong. (…) And the color pink itself is not the result of chance. In the movie, there is a reasoning behind him turning pink. It's not just like it evolved and for some reason the blue turned pink.
