When the new school year starts, you may have a new Google app to improve your productivity. In fact, in a press release, the Mountain View firm has just announced a Windows application called Google Essentials. If you work with Google products and services, such as Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc., this one could help you be more efficient. Indeed, Essentials is a sort of hub on Windows that provides access to the services of the Mountain View firm.

Ashish Pimplapure, director of strategic partnerships at Google, explains that it is a “new application that allows you to more easily discover and install many of our best Google services.” Concretely, Essential allows easy access to Android games available on Windows via Google Play Games. The app also allows you to access images stored on Google Photos, and to use Google Messages on your PC. And, above all, the application includes shortcuts to Google productivity apps, including Google Drive, Google Docs, and the calendar.
And this app can be opened from the Start Menu. But, unfortunately, Google will initially only offer this app on HP PCs (Spectre, Envy, Pavilion, OMEN, Victus). But the Mountain View firm indicates that it will offer its new application on other machines in the coming months.

A new way to create lists on Google Keep

Still on the productivity front, Google is also rolling out a new feature for Google Keep that lets you create to-do lists easily, thanks to generative artificial intelligence. As noted by our colleagues at Android Authority, a “Help me create a list” button recently appeared on the Android version of Google Keep, for some users. When the user taps on it, they can ask the AI to create lists like “a packing list for a summer camping trip with two kids,” or “a list of movies to watch on Halloween.”

200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000

However, according to a Google support page , this feature is only available to users of the Google One AI Premium subscription, and to Pixel smartphone users, according to a support page . Furthermore, according to our colleagues at 01net, the feature does not seem to be available in France at the time of writing.
