In a TikTok video that has caused a lot of reaction, content creator s4iintt (Saint) sounds the alarm. He explains that he was fined for a rather surprising reason: having paid at the A10 toll booth in Essonne on January 16 using Apple Pay on his phone.
A crazy story
The influencer explains that a few minutes after using his smartphone, he saw the police arrive and signal him to move to the side. They even put on their flashing lights, as if they were dealing with a major criminal… He was then given a fine of 90 euros and had three points taken off his driving license.

This video has been much talked about and has already had over 4.5 million views. Internet users are wondering whether the penalty is justified from a legal point of view. The answer is yes according to lawyer Rémy Josseaume consulted by Le Figaro.
200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000He specifies that under article R412-6-1 of the Highway Code, using a telephone while driving is punishable. However, even at the toll booth, “I am driving, neither stopped nor parked”, he specifies. He nevertheless adds: “We can also think ahead and ask ourselves which crooked ticketing agent could have sanctioned this scenario”.
A possible challenge?
If he had had to plead this case before a court, the lawyer would have in any case pleaded “the fact that Vinci Autoroute makes an illegal means of payment possible”. On its website, the dealership also invites its customers to favor contactless payment methods and in particular ” your card, smartphone or other connected object in front of the reader provided for this purpose “.
