Ce dimanche 22 décembre, un homme sans domicile fixe de 23 ans s’est retrouvé sur le tarmac de l’aéroport de Nice après s’être discrètement glissé sur le tapis à bagages.

He almost succeeded in his coup. This Sunday, a man in his twenties managed to reach the tarmac of Nice airport by bypassing all the controls.

According to Nice Matin, the homeless man slipped onto the baggage carousel to sneak onto the tarmac, escaping the surveillance of the staff. His goal: to slip into the hold of a plane to go to Tunisia.

He wanted to go home to see his family

“He wanted to go home to see his family, says the deputy public prosecutor of Nice, Sabine Néale, quoted by our colleagues. No object was found on him.”

While the man was finally arrested and taken into custody, the incident was not without consequences for the passengers who remained stuck for 1 hour 30 minutes on the gangway that was supposed to take them to their plane before learning finally that EasyJet had chosen to cancel the flight.

“We will not receive any compensation, it is a security problem, protests a passenger. But then, if the airport does not secure its runways, and that is worrying, it is up to them to do something!”
