This is an unmissable cinematic saga: Alien is back in theaters. With Alien: Romulus, Fede Álvarez has succeeded in the crazy bet of not disappointing fans of the license. Faced with the legacy of the films directed by James Cameron and those of Ridley Scott, there was nevertheless work to be done. But Alien: Romulus lives up to the expectations of the spectators. And that's a good thing.

Chronologically, Alien: Romulus is situated between the films Alien and Aliens but is intended to be an independent film set in a universe already established and well known to fans. We must therefore expect to meet new protagonists and other characters.

In this new opus, we follow a group of young travelers who undertake excavations in an abandoned space station. It is there that these explorers will find themselves confronted with the most terrifying life form in the universe… According to critics, Alien: Romulusseems to have found the balance and taken the best of the works of James Cameron and Ridley Scott. As a result, Fede Álvarez delivers a film worthy of the name, with good artistic direction, effective staging ideas as well as a frenetic pace to keep the spectators in suspense. On AlloCiné, it obtains an average rating of 3.6 out of 5 from the press.

My friend the little penguinis inspired by a true story, as incredible as it is fascinating and moving. DinDim is an adorable penguin saved by Joao, a big-hearted Brazilian fisherman. The feature film is characterized by a sober staging to emphasize the emotion that encompasses it. Jean Reno gives a touching performance while the film is carried by a soundtrack as well as striking images. A beautiful ode to friendship and nature to see from 6 years old. Perfect for young and old alike. AlloCiné viewers gave it a score of 3.4 out of 5 while the press gave it a score of 3.2.

If you want emotion galore, go see The … Jim. This feature film about fatherhood is completely moving. In official selection at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, the film immerses us in the lives of Aymeric, Florence, Christophe and, above all, Jim.

One evening, Aymeric bumps into Florence, a former work colleague. She is single… and six months pregnant. Not enough to scare Aymeric, who is madly in love and stays by her side. For years, Florence, Aymeric and Jim spend happy times in the Haut-Jura. But everything changes when Christophe, Jim’s biological father, reappears. It is the beginning of an odyssey of fatherhood.

The spectators and the press never cease to praise the actors’ performances, especially the performance of Karim Leklou (Vincent Must Die), who plays the touching Aymeric. With its subtlety, modesty and restraint, Jim's novel succeeds in moving the audience without falling into gratuitous pathos.

You may have already come across Golo and Ritchie on social media. This comedy duo has over 500,000 followers on TikTok and millions of likes. Originally from the Grande Borne district of Grigny, Golo and Ritchie are long-time friends and display an unfailing bond through humorous videos. Suffering from a mild form of autism, Ritchie follows Golo in all his adventures. So much so that directors Ahmed Hamidi and Martin Fougerol wanted to follow them in their daily lives with the ambition of shedding light on disability, particularly in the suburbs. The filmmakers challenged the duo: to travel from Grigny to Marseille in tandem. A real journey!

This feature film is more like a documentary, with a reduced team and budget and an authenticity that make it its greatest richness. During their tandem journey, Golo and Ritchie will live a real and deeply human adventure. If you want to warm your heart, Golo and Ritchie is to be discovered in theaters.
