Here are 4 films you absolutely must see this weekend at the cinema

Spread the love

Every year it's the same thing: the The week between Christmas and New Year is a bit strange, almost “out of time”. We eat leftovers while watching Christmas movies while waiting to officially celebrate the end of this year. The occasion is perfect to go to the dark rooms one last time before 2025.

< p>Despite this rather quiet period, this week's film news is richer than one might think. Enough to end the year with dignity. Like every weekend, we have therefore combed through the box office to offer you a selection of 4 films to see in theaters.

With its 5-star cast, Robert Eggers' new film (The Lighthouse ; The Witch) is this week's big release. On the bill ? Lily-Rose Depp (The Idol), Nicholas Hoult (Juror No. 2), Willem Dafoe (Poor Creatures), Bill Skarsgård (It), Emma Corrin (The Crown) and Aaron Taylor-Johnson (we can forgive him Kraven the Hunter).

If you want to shiver to end the year in style, you're going to be served with this reinterpretation of an iconic gothic fable that had marked the cinema in 1922. Nosferatu, it is the story of a tormented young woman and a terrifying vampire who succumbed to her charm. But inevitably, this “idyll” will not be without consequences…

With this remake, Robert Eggers reappropriates this emblematic myth by adding his own touch and a touch of modernity. Visually and aesthetically, Nosferatu is remarkable. The actors are all excellent and the script is fascinating. The press gave it a score of 3.3 out of 5, while AlloCiné viewers were a little more enthusiastic with an average of 3.5.

Never two without three. After two relatively appreciated first films, the blue hedgehog is back in Sonic 3. If the press is rather cautious with the score of 2.7 out of 5, the spectators of AlloCiné, themselves, are rather convinced with the average of 3.9 out of 5.

Without revolutionizing the genre and despite its flaws, Sonic 3 stands out as a good entertainment to discover with the family at the end of the year. For this third opus, Paramount and Sega have finally understood that it could assume the slightly corny humor of its saga and that is always positive.

For fans of musicals and more particularly of the works of Jacques Demy such as The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, Joli, joli is the perfect film. Funny, touching, catchy, that's how to describe this new film. Joli, joli takes us from Paris to Rome in the 70s when the destiny of a penniless writer collides with that of a rising movie star. Pitfalls, misunderstandings and twists and turns… Their love story will be far from simple!

Carried by William Lebghil and Clara Luciani, with Laura Felpin and José Garcia, Joli, joliis a moment of sweetness that feels good during this festive period. The press and AlloCiné spectators agree on the rating of 3.3 out of 5.

When winter comes to the island of Hokkaido, the boys play ice hockey and the girls do figure skating. Young Takuya only has eyes for Sakura, who has just arrived from Tokyo, when she practices her figure skating routines. When he clumsily tries to imitate her, the young girl's coach suggests that they skate as a duo for an upcoming competition. But it's definitely not to everyone's taste.

A la Billy Elliot, My Sunshine is infinitely sweet and warms hearts while pointing out societal injunctions. Delicate and subtle, My Sunshine touched the press (3.5/5) and AlloCiné viewers (4.2/5). Ideal to end the year well.
