She was an honorary citizen of Saint-Nazaire and was the oldest of this distinction, the mayor Gérald Missour had awarded her the medal of the commune.

She was born in the family home in Saint-Nazaire, the only daughter of Louis and Blanche Roussel, winegrowers. Jacqueline had four children that she raised with her parents after the death of her husband Etienne Pons, town hall secretary who was 47 years old.

She was a doting granny who treated her four children, three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She also liked to offer hospitality.
