Horror at the station: a 6-year-old girl gets her ankle stuck between the step and the platform while getting off the train

On January 24, 2025, a terrible scene took place at the Saint-Hilaire-du-Rosier train station. A 6-year-old girl got her foot stuck between the platform and the TER train from which she was getting off with her family. The result was serious injuries, which is why an appeal for witnesses was launched.

A scene of panic. Friday evening at the Saint-Hilaire-du-Rosier train station in Isère, a little girl seriously injured her ankle while getting off a train, reports France bleu. The police are appealing for witnesses to gather more information about the accident.

Partially amputated heel

The accident occurred around 8 p.m. Friday evening in Isère. At the Saint-Hilaire-du-Rosier station, a family consisting of a 6-year-old girl, her 13-year-old brother, and their mother, were getting off a TER train when the little girl got her ankle stuck between the step and the platform.

< p>A shocking scene, our colleagues note. She suffered an open fracture of her left ankle and her heel was partially amputated during the tragedy. The firefighters were immediately contacted and a Samu helicopter came to pick up the little girl on site to transport her as quickly as possible to the emergency room in Grenoble. She underwent an operation there last night.

Call for witnesses

En shock yesterday evening, the child's brother and mother were questioned this Saturday afternoon. After the accident, the TER involved was immobilized at Chambéry station at the request of the Grenoble public prosecutor's office. Investigators from the gendarmerie, as well as an SNCF expert, were tasked with taking measurements of the wagon.

To successfully complete their investigation, the military launched an appeal to witnesses in order to find the two other passengers who got off the train at the same time on Friday evening. Although they reported to the fire brigade after the incident, their identities have not been recorded. The police asked them to contact the Saint-Marcelin company on 04 76 38 00 17.
