There are subjects that annoy… and Yann Barthès wouldn’t say otherwise. This Wednesday, January 8, he hosted a new episode of his show Quotidien and it was a rather special guest who was present on the set.Mathieu Madénian is a fulfilled dad and he was delighted to let it be known. Images of his little boy, named Milo, were revealed and the comedian spoke about a daily life that is not easy. While he was listing the difficulties of being a dad, he then asked Yann Barthès an unexpected question.

Mathieu Madénian was determined to let loose. “How old are you ?”, he asked the host. For his part, the main person concerned was taken aback. Not knowing what to answer, he first stuttered before wondering if he should tell the truth. “Uh… 26 years old,” he simply said. For his part, Mathieu Madénian understood the deception well and he did not hesitate to say: “Between 50 and 60, it’s the best age. You don’t fight your body anymore. The summer body, we don’t care, there are no more seasons.”

Mathieu Madenian: a guest who provoked hilarity on the set

But why did Mathieu Madenian ask Yann Barthès his age ? The latter had just mentioned his little boy and the host immediately said: “You’re not so young anymore…”. The comedian first took it as a joke, saying: “I’m almost 50. Being a father at that age… I told my son not to get attached.” Enough to provoke hilarity on set, but it was the following confidences that were the most striking. “You’ve become a father,” said Yann Barthès. “My God… I don’t know why. Well, it’s good. His name is Milo, he’s 16 months old,” assures Mathieu Madenian.

A fulfilled dad, the comedian nevertheless regrets the time when he could get a full night’s sleep. “We had been together for 5 years, I told my wife: “listen, we have money, friends and time. If we put an end to all that ? And that’s what happened,” he joked. However, their daily life has taken a new turn and Mathieu Madenian is not the one who will say he knows it. “No one warns you. I wish a friend had told me: “from now on, you can never go to the bathroom with the door closed, he’s there all the time,” he explained, without mincing his words.

Mathieu Madenian: “He’s a joy, he’s adorable”

Mathieu Madenian seems to be a fulfilled dad but who wouldn’t say no to a little rest. “When he’s not sleeping, you have to have fun with him. When he’s sleeping, you shouldn’t make any noise. When he takes a nap, we don't flush the toilet anymore,” he said. The comedian hoped that by telling his story, he would get some advice. “How does it work ? He gets up every morning at 5am, this kid has an appointment at the CAF ?”, he asked, to the laughter of Yann Barthès and the columnists. Before becoming a father, Mathieu Madenian listened to his friends' advice. “Other parents tell you: “you have to sleep when he sleeps”. He sleeps when I drive okay”, he said before concluding: “He’s a joy, he’s adorable”.
