How to Remove Water from Your iPhone via YouTube Video ? Yes it is possible!

No matter how careful we are with our smartphones, no one is safe an accident. So, it is not impossible that you have one day spilled water on your precious iPhone. It is also possible that your first reflex was to dip it in a bowl of (uncooked) rice, which is a mistake, according to the recent update to Apple's support page.

A YouTube video to get rid of water from our iPhones?

On Apple's side, if water is detected by the iPhone, it is recommended to tap the device downwards, pointing the connector downwards, in order to get rid of the liquid that has entered the connector. Then, you have to wait 30 minutes before trying this connector again using a cable or an accessory (but without recharging).

But for the past 4 years, another way has existed to get rid of water that may have taken refuge in the speakers of our iPhones. A rather original way, since it is a YouTube video. The description of the video is very clear: “This sound ejects water from your phone speaker and completely removes water from your cell phone speaker.

The video in question has over 45 million views, but also over 143,000 comments, many of which confirm the veracity of the method. However, it is difficult to know whether the comments are ironic or not.

The teardown specialists at iFixit were keen to test the video with four smartphones, including an iPhone 13. The magazine's journalists also took a close-up look at each phone's speaker, and in every case, the phone immediately ejected a volley of droplets. “The effect didn't last long, but it was clear that the phone was ejecting water that wouldn't come out otherwise” iFixit says.

From Eric Freeman, head of research at Bose, it is stated that the function of a speaker is to push air around it. “If you can push enough air, with enough force, you might be able to push liquid droplets out of their place of origin” he explains. The low frequencies would then be able to eject the water droplets present in the system.

When in doubt, the best thing to do is to take care of your iPhone, and avoid any contact with water. And if you haven't followed the news, remember that the iPhone 16 will be presented very soon by Apple.
