Human remains were discovered on Monday at the Fredericton Area Solid Waste Management Commission landfill in New Brunswick.
La Fredericton Police were called to the scene shortly before 11 a.m.
The director of the dump for the Capital Regional Service Commission, Brad Janes, reports that the sorting center at the dump was closed very early in the day and that the police officers on site left the scene late in the afternoon.
In a press release, the local police indicate that an investigation has been launched and requests the& #x27;help from the population to learn more about this case.

Fredericton Police Force spokesperson Megan Barker declined to give an interview to CBC due to the ongoing investigation.
This is not the first time human remains have been discovered at the Fredericton sanitary landfill.
In October 2019, the authorities were called to the scene for the same reason and a major police operation took place.
