“I always refused”: Jean-Félix Lalanne looks back on his love story with Lara Fabian

Jean-Félix Lalanne is well known in the world of music. With around forty albums to his credit, the guitarist and songwriter of film music has a great career. On Tuesday, January 7, he was invited on the set of Chez Jordan, on C8.

Throughout the interview, his career was at the center of the discussion. Jordan de Luxe, however, tried to obtain some confidences about his private lifeand in particular his past relationship with Lara Fabian. A beautiful love story that lasted about three years, between 2003 and 2006. “It's impossible not to talk about it, because çit's part of your life” first underlined the host.

Jean-Félix Lalanne cites the qualities of Lara Fabian

As soon as the subject of Lara Fabian was brought up by Jordan de Luxe, Jean-Félix Lalanne tensed up. Francis Lalanne's brother thus declared: “The character, I won't talk about it. I won't talk about it, & both out of respect for my wife and out of respect for her husband”. Indeed, the guitarist is now married to Caroline Bonhommeand singer Gabriel di Giorgio.

Despite his reluctance, Jean-Félix Lalanne agreed to discuss the professional aspect of their relationship. “We made a very beautiful album, called 9. I really had an absolutely incredible pleasure working with her, quite simply because she is a musician. More than a musician, she's an instrumentalist” he remembered.

The guitarist is still in contact with the singer

During his relationship with Lara Fabian, the father of the family wanted to avoid as much as possible the mediatization of his relationship. “I have always refused&eacute all the covers in which I was asked to come with her” he explained for example. A measure that did not allow them to go completely unnoticed, however.

Since their separation in the mid-2000s, the two exes still maintain good relations. Jean-Félix Lalanne also confided to this topic: “Two days ago, we called each other because someone wanted to write a biography and had contacted me. I had called her precisely out of respect for her”. “very simple exchanges” that allow them to properly manage questions related to their past history.
