“I even find them in my bed”: maggots have been invading her apartment for 3 weeks, she recounts her ordeal

Since December 9, Jocelyne has been living in hell. Her apartment located in the center of Nice in the Alpes Maritimes is infested with maggots.

Three weeks ago, the sixty-year-old discovered that a horde of maggots were coming out of the light switch in her bedroom and invading her living room, reports Nice-Matin. This “maggot procession” even blows the fuses, depriving the room of electricity.

“How can it only be me?”

The tenant has tried everything: plugging the switch, spraying a bomb or even putting powder against the pests, but the larvae persist.

An agent sent by the trustee did intervene in the building, but in vain. These “meat maggots” keep arriving in her apartment:“We were told that there was probably a corpse somewhere, she explains to Nice-Matin. But the strange thing is that there is no smell.”

After several discussions with her neighbors, Jocelyn explains that she is the only tenant to suffer this inconvenience, much to her dismay: “How can it only be me?”

“It's disgusting”

Her daily life has become hell: “The other day, we were at the table and a maggot fell out of nowhere onto a plate. It's disgusting, I'm sick of it,” she tells our colleagues.

Other times she “finds them even in (s)he reads,” she confides.

Little creatures that also ruined her Christmas Eve since her companion preferred to stay at home. Jocelyn explains that she was unable to leave her apartment either because of her two cats: “Maggots are deadly for animals”.

The sixty-year-old is exhausted and has even contacted her insurance company, which advised her to kill the unwanted creatures and take a photo of them. Although she has noticed a slight improvement in recent days, she can't see the end of her ordeal.
